TIMPA Open House

On November 11, 1996 the Tucson International Modelplex Park Association (TIMPA) held a public Open House as part of their site dedication. Since we were working on establishing a rocket range on their site, we were invited to provide a demonstration of the types of rockets that we would eventually be flying there. We flew in cooperation with the R/C aircraft flyers, wowing the public with several HPR models as well as a wide range of model rockets.

Ed's X-7

One of the most memorable was Ed Bertschy's large X-7 sport scale model, flying on an H123.

Ed with the public

We got another chance to interact with the public and generally show off our stuff.

Steve Casillas's HPR bird

Steve Casillas also had a nice HPR flight on an H.

Rocket preparation

The SARA gang prepping rockets to fly at the demo.

Crowd at ramada

TIMPA had a good crowd in attendance, and their site is well developed with a paved runway and permanent ramada to keep cool under during the summer!
