TIMPA Open HouseOn November 11, 1996 the Tucson International Modelplex Park Association (TIMPA) held a public Open House as part of their site dedication. Since we were working on establishing a rocket range on their site, we were invited to provide a demonstration of the types of rockets that we would eventually be flying there. We flew in cooperation with the R/C aircraft flyers, wowing the public with several HPR models as well as a wide range of model rockets.
One of the most memorable was Ed Bertschy's large X-7 sport scale model, flying on an H123.
We got another chance to interact with the public and generally show off our stuff.
Steve Casillas also had a nice HPR flight on an H.
The SARA gang prepping rockets to fly at the demo.
TIMPA had a good crowd in attendance, and their site is well developed with a paved runway and permanent ramada to keep cool under during the summer! |
