SARA is a National Association of Rocketry (NAR) section formed in 1994 for those in southern Arizona (e.g. Tucson and the rest of the state south of the Gila River). In October of 2005 SARA also became Tripoli prefecture. Our goal is to promote model and high power rocketry, educate ourselves and the public, and to have fun. We have members with a wide range of interests and skill levels. Some are beginners building their first model rockets and several are participating in high power rocketry (HPR). LaunchesOur field is on the northern edge of the Tucson International Modelplex Association's (TIMPA) site. We usually fly the morning on the fourth weekend of each month, alternating between Saturday and Sunday. Check here for more information on the site and when the next launch will be.
