Desert Heat 2016 is a Go!

posted Jan 20, 2016, 9:56 PM by James Cramton

Thanks to a healthy assortment of volunteers, Desert Heat is set for April 2 and 3, 2016 at the main TIMPA facility a half mile South of our usual launch site!  More details will be forthcoming in the next weeks, but look for a similar format to past years, with flights 9 - 5 Saturday, a night flight from 6-9 pm Saturday night, and flights again from 9 - 1 Sunday.  Camping will likely be available, there will be a mass launch on Saturday, raffle prizes, rent-a-rockets, food and rocketry vendors, and more.

Successfully running Desert Heat requires both skilled and unskilled volunteers in specific roles throughout the event, and there are still spots available.  Please sign up for a shift or two out of the 10 shifts that comprise Desert Heat. We want you to have time to enjoy the launch, fly your own rockets, and not feel overworked. But we still need volunteers for a variety of the lower pressure tasks.

Thanks to you all for your support! We are looking forward to another outstanding event this year!
