11/20/2016 Public Launch

posted Nov 21, 2016, 5:23 PM by Randall Shanyfelt

We had a chilly and windy start but a good turn-out on Sunday. Lots of kids flying, so many that we had to open the second set of model rocket pads. We have not had to do that in some time. University of Arizona students came out, a few of our friends from the SSS club in phoenix, 2 high power staged flights, and much more! A big Thank You to Brett Rathi and Ken Weaver for doing a lot of work earlier in the week on the site. As you can see from the picture above, volunteerism, and helping each other out is how the club runs. Art Just did provide quite the funny running commentary as LCO and the lack of chutes on model rockets. Just know if you are ever at a launch and need help, just approach one of the members and we will be happy to help.

Shout out to Ed and Ken on passing the L2 NAR exam as well, we look forward to your certification flights!
