Last years night flight was at best a disappointment. We had by far the biggest crowd I've ever seen show up for a night flight and only one high power and very few model rockets. Estes motors are neat at night, “H” and “I” motors get the crowd going. I’ve committed three high power rockets and a minimum of three flights. An "H-123W" an "I-285R” and a K-185W long burn. The long burn will be on electronics with motor back up to ensure deployment. Please guys and gal's lets step it up this year.
Anyone planning night flights please post it and let us know what you’re going to fly.
If anyone needs a strobe light that will run 12 hours plus on a 9 volt battery e-mail me at lfoster@phelpsdodge.com and I will send you a $30 strobe for free but you must fly it at Desert Heat. You will need a "G" motor or higher to lift the strobe and battery. The strobe and battery weighs 2.6 oz. This strobe flashes Red, Blue, Orange and White. It's 4" long and 3/4" round, it can be inserted threw the end of a nose cone. Tape in the battery and twist the wires together.
