Events

Our biggest achievement has been hosting the NAR's biggest event for the year, NARAM, in 1997. Attendance was good, the local television & print media covered us and the attendees had fun.

SARA also holds an annual launch called Desert Heat. It is a 2-day launch. There are activities for all age groups at this launch which include a night launch and a mass launch with prizes for the kids.

Build Sessions

We currently have no monthly build sessions scheduled. Our previous location where build sessions were held is no longer available and we are currently seeking a new location. When one is found it will be posted here and you will be able to come by to talk, ask questions, build rockets, get some help on your newest project.

Membership

SARA membership dues and range fees enable SARA to continue to provide and expand the launch equipment and the facility at TIMPA. In addition, it enables us to initiate and expand public communication and outreach programs that will benefit both SARA and the community. We changed our fees effective January 1, 2010 as follows:

1. All children under 18 fly free at SARA monthly launches and Desert Heat.

2. SARA membership is free for families whose only fliers are children under 18.

3. SARA membership is $25/year for adults or families with adults who fly.

4. SARA monthly launch range fees are free for members, $5/day for non-members.

5. Children can be SARA members if their parents fill out the application form.
