2005 News ArchivePosted 10/18/05 SARA's 2nd annual winter launch titled "Desert Heat 2006"
Join SARA for it's 2nd annual winter rocket launch on
January 21st and 22nd. A 2 day affair with a waiver to 4500 feet. Currently
we are attempting to get windows for higher altitudes. Motors limited to L
(possibly M after a GPS analysis of the site). More details to follow.
SARA is now a Tripoli Rocket Association (TRA) prefectureThanks to the work of SARA VP Eric Burch, SARA has been designated as prefecture #93 of TRA and joins the ranks of very few clubs who have both NAR and TRA affiliations. Posted 9/16/05 Launch times change to the "cool" weather schedule for the October launchThe October launch will return to the "cool" weather schedule. This means that the launch will start a 9:00AM and end at 1:00PM. Posted 9/16/05 SARA member meeting
The Fall meeting will be on Saturday, September 17th
at Lasertel, 7775 N. Casa Grande Hwy (same place as last time) at 5:00 PM.
This was the only weekend that did not have a major launch scheduled until
November. We have a lot of issues to cover include voting on the changes to
by-laws, NARAM, and the Spring Launch Event (aka Anniversary Launch). Please
mark it down on your calendar!

SARA headed toward TRA affiliationSARA is now headed toward being a dual affiliation club with the addition of a Tripoli Rocketry Association prefecture to the existing NAR section. The June 4th meeting cleared the way for the work to begin for SARA to become a TRA prefecture. Stay tuned for more information. Posted 4/18/05 SARA Club Meeting on June 4thThere is a discussion within SARA to change SARA into a joint National Association of Rocketry and Tripoli Rocketry Association organization. To facilitate a discussion and to vote on this change the board has scheduled a members meeting for Saturday, June 4th, at 5:00 PM. The location will be at Lasertel, 7775 N. Casa Grande Hwy (On the Southbound frontage road between Cortaro and Ina). It is the SARA Board desire to hear your thoughts, questions, and concerns. Other topics of interest may be discussed at the meeting following resolution of the joint operations proposal. Please note that you do not have to be a member of SARA to attend and participate in the discussions at this meeting.
