SARA's 10th Anniversary Launch

SARA will be holding it's 10 year anniversary celebration with an all day (well, most of the day) launch planned for January 15th. We will be using the R/C side of the TIMPA field for this event. Amenities on the R/C side include flush toilets, the ramada, and electricity. Several competitive events and a night launch are scheduled. Guidelines for the night launch will be published in the November SARA News (possibly earlier on the SARA web site at www.sararocketry.org). The competitive events
include:

C Fat Boy Duration
A Boost Glider
A Streamer Duration
H Water Loft Duration

The boost glider and streamer duration events will be flown per the NAR Sporting Code (Pink Book) rules. The Pink Book is available on line at the NAR's website, www.nar.org. The Fat Boy and water loft duration rules will be published next month (possibly earlier on the SARA web site at www.sararocketry.org). In general, the object of the Fat Boy competition is to keep an Estes Fat Boy in the air for the longest time. The only permissible changes from the kit model are to the recovery system (e.g.
parachute size or material change). The object of the waterloft duration event is to keep a predetermined quantity of water (probably around a pint to two pints; the exact quantity will be announced in the rules) in the air for the longest time. Individuals who participate in the waterloft event need to be a minimum of Level 1 High Power certified.

The 10th anniversary celebration will require people to assist with range operations, registration, range setup, and other celebration functions. Please see Jay Dennis or Jay Dickhous if you can help.
